Ryann watters
Without a watch, Ryann would be lost. In one sense he is carefree
and loves to joke around, yet he is also very aware of what time
of day it is and whether the events of the day are
on schedule. Classmates like him and he’s a natural leader.
A strength that can be a weakness is his competitive nature and
always wanting to be first at everything.
Little Known Fact:
Ryann enjoys watching sports and is thinking about trying out for
the basketball team.

terell peterson
Ryann’s best friend, Terell, moved into his neighborhood two
years ago from the big city streets of Atlanta. His mother teaches
at the high school. Terell enjoys fishing around the numerous lakes
in Mount Dora and biking along the picturesque streets. He is self-conscious
about his stuttering, and his deepest desire is to overcome his timidity
and be stronger.
Little Known Fact:
Terell wants to be an artist someday and dreams about finding someone
with whom
he can apprentice.

liddy thomas
When you look up smart, athletic, and pretty in the dictionary,
Liddy’s name pops up. She seems to have it all together, but
sometimes her desire to have everything scientifically proven can
be her greatest weakness. Not easily intimidated, this talented
soccer player
with an expansive vocabulary has developed a close friendship with
Ryann and Terell.
Little known fact:
Liddy secretly enjoys sewing but feels others might make fun of
her hobby.

drake dunfellow
Drake is the opposite of Liddy—everything in life seems to
be going against him. Living with his eerie aunt and backwards uncle
after his parents died prematurely in a car accident, Drake has
allowed bitterness to take root in his heart. Held back a year in
school due to this hardship, Drake isolates himself and lashes out
in anger at classmates.
Little known fact:
Drake loves the thrill of roller coasters. His three favorites in
nearby Orlando are Universal’s Hulk, Sea World’s Kraken,
and Disney World Animal Kingdom’s Expedition Everest.

Aeliana Creatures
Ireth Silimaurë
Ireth Silimaurë is an elf in Aeliana who is the first person
Ryann, Liddy, and Terell meet upon their return. She is the ancestor
of Inwë Silimaurë, who was a scribe for many of the Annals
of Aeliana. Ireth is a pure elf that has discriminating feelings
toward the Halfling (half elf/half dwarf) Rowan.
the hugons
The Hugons are a race of creatures known as “The Peacekeepers.”
They are mostly human but part dragon. It’s not known exactly
how they came into being, but some of the oldest writings in Aeliana
claim that a race of small black dragons rebelled against the Word
and intermarried with humans in a remote village in the farthest
corners of Aeliana.
Eljon
Eljon is a wild-eyed, red dwarf who lives in the desert. He wears
a mysterious E-shaped medallion around his neck. He introduces Carwyn,
the White Unicorn, to Ryann, Liddy, Terell, Sorcha, and Ireth.

Carwyn
Carwyn is the White Unicorn who stands for all that is good in
Aeliana. He is the leader of “The Chosen,” and personally
selects each member. In times past, 3 moons would rise over Aeliana
and The Word would speak to the people. Only 2 moons show up when
Carwyn is officially introduced.
Adain
Adain is a Pegasus whose home is in the Joynnted Knolls. Carwyn
meets Adain when he has a broken wing. In Aeliana it is a sign of
bad things to come, since it is rare for a Pegasus to break its
wing. Carwyn heals Adain and asks him to join The Chosen.
Narcissus
Narcissus is the black unicorn who has appointed himself as king
of Aeliana. He lives in Myraddin and controls the Hugons and Griffins.

jett
Jett is a faun with a brother by the name of Jasper. Jett is talented
in archery and challenges Ireth to a “friendly” competition.
They briefly join The Chosen on their journey to Myraddin.
Sorcha
Sorcha is a white dragon which gives her a cone of frost as a breath
weapon. She is the one link between the kids first visit to Aeliana
and their second visit, because dragons can live to be 1,500 years
old or more. Liddy creates a close bond with Sorcha to replace the
loss of Essy.
